IN CHRIST'S IMAGE TRAINING - LEVEL I

ICIT is our foundational classes to equip our ministry leaders in preparing for a life of Christlike living.

GOALS:

  • In a world full of increasing violence and strife, to possess the pure, unoffendable heart of Jesus Christ.
  • To literally become the fragrance of Christ to God in every circumstance of life (see 2 Corinthians 2:15), thereby awakening both the Father's pleasure and His power.
  • By word, deed and the patience of wisdom, engender unity among the people of God.

IN CHRIST'S IMAGE TRAINING - LEVEL I

TRACK 1 - CHRISTLIKENESS (6 sessions, 12 chapters, 11 messages on CDs)
TRACK 2 - HUMILITY (6 sessions, 12 chapters, 11 messages on CDs)
TRACK 3 - PRAYER (6 sessions, 10 chapters, 8 messages on CDs)
TRACK 4 - UNITY (6 sessions, 10 chapters, 9 messages on CDs)

The goal of Level I is to remove the trappings and misdirection of mere religion and simplify the vision of attaining Christlikeness. The student will also be positioned and strengthened in Christlike, "unoffendable" intercession for their families, churches and communities.

God's truth tells us that we are all called to be ministers of Jesus Christ. True ministry is not limited to what occurs behind a pulpit, but more frequently through our Christlike character in the home, the marketplace and neighborhood. We should think of ourselves as ministers of Jesus Christ, whether our mission field is our school, work, or immediate family.

IN CHRIST'S IMAGE TRAINING, TRACK I - CHRISTLIKENESS

CHRISTLIKENESS:
We were created for one purpose: to become Christlike. Once we truly begin to manifest the maturity, power and attitudes of Jesus Christ, all things come into perspective and all relationships begin to expand toward heavenly proportions. Christ did not die on the cross simply to "save" us in a theological sense, He saves and forgives us that He might transform us.

To know Jesus Christ is to understand what He did as our redeemer; it is to behold Who He is as God's Son; and it is to obey what He said as Lord of life. Yet, the church has minimized the significance of Jesus' teaching and offered man-made traditions instead of true discipleship. Jesus taught that if we loved Him, we would keep His Word. No one can ever hope to attain Christlikeness without being passionate about following all that Jesus taught. This class will focus upon the vision of becoming Christlike and understanding the teachings of Christ.

In this first manual of In Christ's Image Training, the Holy Spirit sets before us the eternal goal of our salvation: conformity to Jesus Christ.

IN CHRIST'S IMAGE TRAINING, TRACK II - HUMILITY

HUMILITY:
When Jesus said, "Learn of Me," the specific attitude He emphasized was His humility. Indeed, among all those in heaven, the Son of God declared that the humble were the "greatest" (Matt. 18:1-4). God measures spiritual greatness not by the height of our accomplishments, but by the depth of our humility.

What is humility that it so attracts the pleasure of God? Why is this virtue so esteemed in Christ's eyes; why are pride and rebellion so offensive? In this class we will learn the joy and power of the meek and what it means to obtain the endorsement of God.

In the second manual of In Christ's Image Training, we will study the characteristics of meekness and why it attracts the attention of God. We will discover that meekness is the sub-structure and sustainer of transformation. We will better understand why the Almighty said, "To this one I will look, to him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My Word" (Isaiah 66:2).

IN CHRIST'S IMAGE TRAINING, TRACK III - PRAYER

Article Pic

PRAYER:
The Lord Jesus said His house would be called a "house of prayer for all nations." Thus, He revealed that prayer would be an indispensable component in the release of mercy to the world.

The Book of Acts reveals that the early apostles were devoted to the Word of God and prayer. Like Jesus Himself, they drew their spiritual power from God, which they found in the place of prayer. They were not judgmental, they were "prayer-mental." Daily, these disciples met for corporate intercession and throughout history the church was never more powerful.

Contrary to the way of western religion, spiritual power does not emerge from human ingenuity; power comes from time spent with God in prayer. Students will not only explore the variety of roles prayer plays in scripture, they will learn how to make prayer the cornerstone of their ministry.

In this third manual of In Christ's Image Training, we will seek to appropriate various aspects of the gift of prayer as seen in our passion for God, in praying for our families, and in intercession for our cities and nations. We will expose the accuser of the brethren and seek to attain the highest level of prayer, where Christ Himself, in the midst of our woundedness, intercedes through us to the Father.

IN CHRIST'S IMAGE TRAINING, TRACK IV - UNITY

Article Pic

UNITY:
Jesus taught that a house divided cannot stand. Knowing the devil's power to divide people, Jesus prayed earnestly for oneness in His church. Indeed, it is this Christ-centered, unified church that changed the world in the first century and our unity is again what God will use to transform our world in the last century. This class will release students with Christ's vision concerning unity and Holy Spirit power to engender unity among Christians. This class will focus upon the vision of becoming Christlike and understanding the teachings of Christ.

Before God's Spirit moves in world-changing power upon the earth, He first unifies His people. The Bible reveals that every significant move of God was preceded by a unifying work of grace. This truth is seen in the unity of the Israelites before they conquered the cities of Canaan. It was manifest again in the union of David with his men before David became king. Indeed, the book of Acts begins with Jesus' disciples praying together "with one mind" (Acts 1:14). The profound truth of God is that Pentecost did not produce unity among the disciples, their unity was the precursor to Pentecost.

In this final manual of In Christ's Image Training we will see why God hates our divisions and why the unifying of His disciples was the passion of Jesus' final prayers.
